Hi everybody, I just thought I would start the New Year, making sure everyone gets to know how successful the two Filey groups have been. We have had quite a lot of new members and I welcome them all. To what I can only describe as, the most positive, supportive groups in the area. I am sure you will find, staying to group and joining in with everything, you will soon realise everyone knows what it is like, to join something, that can be life changing, and at first daunting. Seeing how well existing members are doing and believing those great weight losses they have already experienced, this will soon be you. And to prove my point this month the 10.am group has lost a whopping 204 lbs – more than 14 stone. and the 6.30 group has lost 155 lb approximately 11 stone. So 25 stone of weight loss, already gone in the first month after Christmas. Now anybody out there who made a new resolution to lose weight and have already given up, then take it from me, nothing beats having the support of like-minded people and the knowledge that each week, you are going to be weighed, and encouraged to keep going.
This week some of you might have seen in this Saturdays Evening News/ Mercury, the great piece about Gemma Benson, who has decided to join in the cycle ride across Kenya for the charity Woman v Cancer. She now has loads of confidence after losing, since she joined last March 3st. 6lb. She is building up her fitness in time to take on the grueling 248 miles, while at the same time, losing even more weight. Not only to reach her personal target but to achieve finishing the whole 248 miles and raise loads of money for the charity. Please support her and go to wwwjustgiving.com/gemma-benson and look out for other ways she has planned to help raise the money she needs.
I would like to say a big thank you to Tesco for allowing myself and the Hunmanby Group Consultant Kaye, promote our groups all day one Saturday after Christmas at the new Filey Tesco. We sold raffle tickets for the Clic Sargent children’s Cancer appeal the prize was a basket of Free of Extra Easy Food. We raised a fabulous £207.20 thank you to all those generous people.
Hope to see you at either of my groups.
Irene x
